Amazon has announced their upcoming new service which has flung them into the cloud gaming scene alongside Google. Amazon Luna is another on-demand cloud gaming platform where users can play games without needing to wait for long downloads or updates first. The goal for this is that players will be able to play games even if they have weaker hardware than would normally be needed. Like with Google Stadia, this service demands a strong and reliable internet connection to ensure a stable connection to the cloud and game servers.
It will be available for PC, Mac and mobile devices at launch and Amazon is launching a limited beta test where some US Amazon customers can take part. The company is also releasing a controller to go with the service and those in the limited beta test will be the first with a chance to purchase one.
So far first impressions from users is that the client is working well however, the games haven’t been streaming too well.
