Amazon Luna beats consoles

Can’t Find a PS5 or Xbox Series X? Here’s Why You Should Be Playing on Amazon Luna!

The Xbox Series X and PS5 are the most sought-after consoles nowadays, and they are both virtually impossible to purchase anywhere. While many gamers have been obsessed with these next-generation consoles, there is a cloud gaming service available by Amazon that’s just as good. It’s called Amazon Luna and it might be the best alternative for you if you are struggling to find a PS5 or Xbox Series X. Here’s why it makes an attractive option:

It’s Accessible

Even though Amazon Luna is still in its infancy, it is far more accessible than the new consoles. Not only that, it also does many things better as compared to all other current services available on the market. Since it’s a cloud gaming service, it allows you to play games on different devices, e.g. PC, mobile phones, TV, etc. without having to buy a gaming console. It’s even allows you to stream to two simultaneous devices, which is amazing.

It’s Easy to Set-Up

Setting up Luna is surprisingly very easy. All you need to do is download the app on your Amazon Fire TV or if you got an invite, visit the Amazon Luna page on your favorite web browser to get started. Next, get your controller set-up by pairing it via Bluetooth settings. You will need to download an app if you using the Amazon Luna Controller. Once you are logged into your account and you’ve got your controller set-up, you are ready to start gaming.

It’s Affordable

Pricing is one of the most prominent aspects of Amazon Luna. The cloud gaming service starts from $5.99/month which is a pretty sweet deal, particularly if you are already in the Amazon ecosystem. Apart from this, Amazon has partnered with Ubisoft to create an exclusive gaming channel that offers access to their most popular titles, e.g. AC Valhalla, Far Cry 6, etc. This additional subscription costs $14.99/month.

Growing Collection of Games

The games library of Amazon Luna includes short indies as well as popular AAA titles. This includes Metro Exodus, Grid, Sonic Mania, Control, and more. Over on the Ubisoft channel, you can find the biggest franchises from the publisher, e.g. Watch Dogs, Ghost Recon, Assassin’s Creed, The Division, and Far Cry. If you cannot wait to get your hands on the new console, Amazon Luna is the service for you.

Control on Luna is visually amazing

Luna Controller is Not Mandatory

If you don’t like the idea of buying a Luna Controller to play your favorite titles via this service, then you will be glad to know that you don’t have to. Luna Controller is not mandatory and you can still play games using a PS4 or Xbox One controller or even mouse and keyboard. On your smartphone, you can play via touch controls. However, getting a Luna Controller is recommended as it directly connects to the cloud and significantly reduces lag time.

The Bottom Line

The Xbox Series X and PS5 are both awesome gaming consoles but it’s very difficult at the moment to get your hands on either of these. The good news is, there are many great alternatives available. While still early, Amazon Luna is proving itself to be an excellent choice for gamers who cannot find a PS5 or Xbox Series X console. While its games library is relatively small, it’s still a pretty solid option, one that is certainly worth checking out.
