The popularity of Google Stadia may be questionable however, Amazon Luna hasn’t entered full release yet and its survival is already being questioned. The Luna platform has been getting good comments from testers so far which is a great start though Microsoft has made a recent announcement which puts both Amazon Luna and Google Stadia at risk.
Microsoft will be introducing an Xbox app for Smart TVs within the next 12 months. In an interview with The Verge, Xbox boss Phil Spencer revealed they have plans to release an app for Smart TVs within the next year. Previously he hinted at TV Streaming Sticks for the xCloud service and this suggests they’ve decided on an app instead.
Xbox is a very established gaming brand which gives the xCloud service a big advantage over both Google Stadia and Amazon Luna regardless of how big their parent companies are. The next 12 months will be critical for all three companies involved. More news will be coming throughout the next 12 months.
