Devil May Cry 5 Review

Devil May Cry 5 is the latest iteration of the Devil May Cry series and it brings in a unique twist into the mix, since we can play as up to 3 different characters in the game. Aside from the very popular Nero and Dante, we have a new protagonist which is named V. The main focus for all these characters is to try and stop Urizen the demon king as he tries to eliminate the human world.

As we said, we have to take down Urizen but that’s not easy. He has a lot of demons spread all over the world and thus we need to do everything we can in order to go through the Red Grave City and try to kill these enemies to get one step closer to the end. As you play you also get to learn more about V and the fact that he does have a connection to Urizen as well.

The Devil May Cry 5 game comes with that classic, fun and fast paced action gameplay we know and love, at least for Nero and Dante. The idea here is to create combos and kill enemies, while completing various levels. This is exciting because it adds in to the experience and it makes the gameplay a lot more engaging and fun. Also, even the music is changing based on the performance that you have in combat.

As you play you interact with the mechanic named Nico, she will bring you new abilities, and here you also have a Bloody palace where you can face demons. Every character has their fair share of unique weapons and features, with V being the one that also has a more distinctive and empowering style. He is actually using summons in order to attack enemies. They all have their special attacks and ways to make their attack even stronger.

It’s interesting to see that even the older characters receive new abilities, because it does add to the story and gameplay. You do feel the progression of the characters. And aside from V, the play style is very similar to the old games. That means even if you liked the older ones a lot, there’s plenty to enjoy and you will find it to be an incredible, fun and rewarding experience with some cool ideas and features brought into the mix.

We feel that Devil May Cry 5 is the most visually impressive Devil May Cry game up to this date. Everything from the game world to the animations and fast paced gameplay is really well done, and that says a whole lot about the game. Add to that the fact that you enjoy a stellar set of animations and you get impressive character design, then you will see how amazing and fun the game can be. The sound design and soundtrack are also spectacular, well above a lot of people would expect. It’s totally worth checking out for that alone.

Overall, Devil May Cry 5 is nothing short of a masterpiece. It looks amazing, it plays really well, and it’s also fast paced and a lot of fun. It also comes with a story that’s unexpected, yet very fun and extremely enjoyable. There’s a great conclusion to the game, but you also have some room for a sequel too. In the end, you have lots of fun gameplay, some interesting new things and V certainly steals the show too.
